The Cabaret Theatre season is selected by a play reading committee
during the summer months. This committee, consiting of six members,
is elected during Cabaret Theatre's elections. The Cabaret Theatre
season consists of mainstage productions which are typically
full length pieces which are normally fairly well known and
accepted.
In addition, the Cabaret Theatre season also consists of a
special project, which may bean original, avant-garde, cutting
edge or lesser known work. Previous special projects have included
original student works, performance poetry, evenings of one
acts and various other lesser-known works. Special projects
are usually announced later in the season after the season begins.
The Cabaret Theatre schedule of events also includes coffeehouses
and open mics as well as the Cabaret Theatre Director's Showcase.
